Raymond Grinding Process

The Raymond mill consists of a main unit, fan, analyzer, and a pipeline dust collection system. It can also be equipped with a crusher, elevator, silo, electromagnetic vibrating feeder, and electrical control cabinet. Its working principle relies on the hanging roller suspended on the central axis. As the motor drives the roller to rotate at high speed, it generates compression and grinding effects. In the grinding zone, materials undergo compression, friction, shear grinding, and intermittent impact crushing in a low-speed state.

The ring roller mill crushes materials using impact, compression, and grinding principles. In addition, there is a large active gap between the grinding roller and the pin shaft installed on the turntable. As a result, when the turntable revolves with the main shaft, centrifugal force throws the rollers toward the grinding ring. The rollers press against the inner wall of the ring and rotate around the pin shaft. Subsequently, the roller and the ring crush the material by impact, compression, and grinding as it passes through the gap.

The crushed material falls onto the material throwing disc under gravity. It is then thrown into the airflow and enters the classification chamber. Qualified fine powder passes through the classifier wheel and into the collection system. The flow-diverting ring throws the coarse particles toward its inner wall, and they then fall back into the grinding chamber for further crushing. As a result, the material undergoes additional grinding to achieve the desired fineness.. The turntable can be single-layer or double-layer (upper and lower). In a double-layer ring roller mill, material passing through the gap between the second layer turntable and roller undergoes additional crushing. This ensures thorough material grinding and a qualified product fineness.

The ball mill is a key device that grinds materials into fine powder using a rotating drum. During operation, the drum is filled with grinding media, such as steel balls, steel rods, or quartz sand. The drum rotates around its horizontal axis, creating a complex dynamic under gravity, centrifugal force, and friction. Materials are fed from the input end, and as the drum rotates, the grinding media fall and impact the materials. This process grinds and crushes the materials, achieving the desired fine powder.

Ultrafine Vertical Grinding Process

The vertical mill also uses the principle of pressure grinding. Materials are fed into the grinding table, which rotates under the force of a reducer. The centrifugal force moves the material toward the edge of the table. The grinding rollers grind the material between themselves and the upper part of the table liner. Additionally, the hydraulic system on the three grinding rollers applies constant grinding pressure. This hydraulic control increases the grinding pressure on the material, achieving higher crushing efficiency than Raymond mills.

In terms of single-machine production capacity, both Raymond mills and ring roller mills have relatively low output. Ball mills and vertical mills can achieve higher output under the same conditions. This makes it easier to scale up heavy calcium production. Compared to ball mills, vertical mills have the advantage of lower energy consumption. Therefore, most large-scale enterprises use vertical mills for heavy calcium production.
